Sagamiko Resort Pleasure Forest in Kanagawa Prefecture will be hosting the largest illumination event in the Kanto region of Japan this winter! From November 16th to April 4th, visitors will be able to see “Pokemon Illuminations” as part of their annual “Sagamiko Ilmilion” illumination event.

New illuminated areas have been designed to reproduce the world of Pokemon. These areas include mountaintop forests, grasslands, and ponds. Sagamiko Resort also promises plenty of photo spots including a Pikachu who lives in a forest of light, Charmanders who sleep while warming up next to a bonfire, and Pokemon who enjoy camping while cooking curry!

The illuminations use 6 million lights, making it one of the largest events of its type in the Kanto region. Covering a 40,000 m2 part of the resort, and split into 10 different areas, the illuminations are carefully colour-coded for each area. In addition, the “Rainbow Lift” that carries visitors over the resort on a 250-meter-long lift and offers a great view of the illuminated Pleasure Forest.

Entry to the illuminations is between 4pm and 9pm from November 16th to April 4th. The illuminations will start at 5pm each night until February when they will be lit at different times depending on the day’s weather and lighting situation.

Even though he’s not a Pokémon, Paddington Bear will also be joining in with the event as the Pleasure Forest’s Paddington Town area will also be illuminated.
