The convention was cancelled this year due to the coronavirus. It’s back in 2021 with new online access and it’s also heading back to Tokyo if you can attend in-person!

Anime Japan has been an annual part of the Japanese anime fan and industry convention scene since 2014 and was due to run again in 2020 before being cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions.

Anime Japan returns home to Tokyo’s Big Sight convention centre from March 27th to 29th 2021, just over two years since the previous event was held there in 2019.

The organising committee have announced they are preparing to deliver access to the event online so that those who cannot come to the venue can take part. More details about how to attend the event online will be made available nearer the time.

As an industry event, Anime Japan also holds 2 days of business events as part of the convention and these will now take place entirely online.

The main attractions of Anime Japan including the booths and stores run by the various animation, broadcasting and merchandise companies as well as the on-stage talks, performances and presentations will still be available to those attending in person as the event takes up the West and South Exhibition Halls at Tokyo Big Sight.
