In what is now a seasonal tradition, Starbucks Japan has announced the latest seasonal themed drink to join their menu for a limited time.
The Daigaku Imo or “Candied Sweet Potato” Frappucino features blended candied sweet potato in the Frappucino base, with a drizzle of honey syrup atop a layer of cream. The drink is finished with black sesame seeds, making this a sweet yet savoury treat perfect for the Autumn season.
Also available as part of the limited menu is a Sweet Potato Chiffon Cake – an autumnal twist on a dessert that pairs perfectly with coffee. To maximise the autumnal flavouring, sweet potato powder has been kneaded into the dough, as well as a sweet potato cream surrounding the cake. The cake is finally topped with a caramel sauce to accent the flavour.
Starbucks Japan’s autumnal menu is rounded off with a delightful sounding Chestnut and Chocolate Latte as well as a traditional American apple pie.
